TITLE: Regional Manager - PA North (Harrisburg - Lemoyne, Lower Paxton, Linglestown, Lebanon, Selinsgrove, Mechanicsburg)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of the regional manager is to support the stores in the region with all resources necessary for delivering an outstanding customer experience. Must lead a strong Teamwork environment.


GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintenance –Provide support to the general managers to schedule and/or perform any repairs. Train the team and manager on best practices for performing facility and equipment maintenance. Verify that the manager and teams are completing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual preventive maintenance. Coordinate and communicate effectively with ShinyShell maintenance team to ensure that maintenance projects are completed timely.
  • Support Hiring Needs – the regional manager will play a pivotal role in filling vacant general manager and assistant manager positions within the region. The regional manager will also support the general manager and assistant manager in the hiring needs of the store. Help select candidates who meet the ShinyShell Values – Happy, Clean and Responsible.
  • Scheduling – work with general managers and assistant managers to execute best scheduling practices in order to minimize store labor expense while ensuring top-quality service is provided.
  • Managing expenses – review general manager expenses and hold managers accountable for store spending. Help managers understand proper levels of spending.
  • Facility Upkeep – ensure that managers are taking care of the facility and property throughout the year including summer landscaping, mowing, weeding, trimming, snow plow services, shoveling, salting, etc.
  • Cleaning schedules – Help managers develop best practices for cleaning the tunnels and lots.
  • Store inspections – participate in quarterly store inspections and follow through with managers to complete items.
  • Drive improvement projects – identify areas for improvement at the stores and drive those projects forward. Coordinate with corporate office to coordinate major store improvements.
  • Ensure consistent and top-notch wash quality – monitor quality at carwashes and implement changes as necessary to keep quality high. Help managers develop a culture of professional carwash attendants that can watch for quality and address problems as they arise.
  • Training –Ensure that general managers and assistant managers have training necessary to succeed in their respective roles. Verify that new hires are being properly trained in all areas of our service: greeting, loading, vacuum lot.
  • Safety – The regional manager’s first responsibility is to ensure that each carwash location has a safe culture embedded throughout the team. Confirm that teams are adhering to safe loading practices. Provide coaching and training to general managers. Drive change that will fix unsafe hazards and unsafe behavior.
  • Opening and closing – hold managers accountable for stores opening and closing on time. Confirm that the teams are performing quality opening and closing procedures.
  • Keep Managers and Leaders on task with clear, written measurable goals
  • Ensure that General Managers and Assistant Managers properly handle disciplinary and human resources issues
  • Investigate and handle all escalated Member/Guest-related complaints, issues, and ensure top-notch Member/Guest service in all operations – through all Managers and Leaders
  • Ensure Team Members are wearing proper uniforms
  • Communicate to the Regional / Owner any situation, problem or accident that couldn’t be resolved

PREREQUISITES:

  • Leadership and team-building skills
  • A history of success, integrity and ethics
  • A willingness to take ownership and display problem solving abilities
  • Background with labor management and strategic staff scheduling preferred
  • A desire to learn mechanical and electrical skill sets
  • A high level of initiative, attention to detail, and pride in a job well done
  • Proficient computer skills including email, google sheets
  • The ability to multitask in a rapidly changing environment
  • Great customer service and a passion for building relationships with customers and community members
  • Available to work all shifts, including weekends, with a varying schedule
  • Valid driver’s license
