Position Description:

Trinity Valley School is seeking a full-time Director of Annual Giving to begin on July 1st, 2024. The Director of Annual Giving will report to the Director of Advancement and will develop, create, and execute the plan for the TVS Annual Fund, manage a team of volunteers, and strive to reach aspirational goals related to dollars and participation through the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors from all constituencies. All, while continuing to educate the TVS Community on the importance of the TVS Annual Fund and its profound impact on the student, faculty, staff, coaches, and alumni of Trinity Valley. The Director of Annual Giving will work closely and in concert with the Director of Alumni Relations, Advancement Assistant for Alumni Digital Engagement, and the Advancement Services Manager to make sure all Advancement operations are running efficiently and effectively. As in all schools, flexibility and collaboration are a must and the Director of Annual Giving will work alongside the Admissions, Marketing and Communication, Business, and Technology Offices to ensure that student success is at the forefront of our work.

The Advancement Department at Trinity Valley School:

The Advancement Department at Trinity Valley School oversees the school's operations as it relates to fundraising, parent relations, and alumni relations. As a team, they strive to create meaningful relationships with all constituents of the TVS Community and connect the school to individuals, corporations, foundations, and other key community leaders who can move the school forward strategically through their time, treasure, and talents.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Director of Advancement to recommend ambitious and achievable annual fundraising goals, including:
    • Total Dollars
    • Number of Donors
    • Participation Rates for alumni and current parents
  • Design, plan, and implement Trinity Valley School's annual giving program for all constituencies which will include, but not be limited to:
    • Management of a portfolio of donors for personal solicitations
    • Creation of table of gifts needed to achieve recommended and approved goals.
    • Development of print and digital appeals and collateral materials
    • Segmentation of donor constituent groups based on giving levels, gift capacity, class years, etc.
    • Recruiting, training and managing cadre of parent Annual Fund volunteers (approximately 50 volunteers) who conduct personal, peer-to-peer solicitations.
    • Planning and executing cultivation and stewardship events
    • Maintenance of online giving platform (GiveCampus)

  • Manage all aspects of TVS' gift recognition groups (Astra Society, Benefactors Club, and 1959 Club) including annual appreciation events.
  • Conduct wealth capacity screening (using external vendor) and additional donor research (if needed) on all first-year parents/guardians for incorporation into the Annual Fund table of gifts, as needed.
  • Commission additional donor research, as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Advancement staff to plan and execute advancement-related events for donor identification, cultivation, and stewardship.
  • Work collaboratively with the Manager of Advancement Services to ensure accurate and timely entry of gifts/pledges and acknowledgment of gifts/pledges.
  • Create and maintain ongoing reports related to fundraising metrics.
  • Conduct annual review (qualitative and quantitative) of previous year's fundraising activities and programs for planning purposes.
  • Serve as a staff member on the Board of Trustees Advancement Committee, assisting the Director of Advancement with preparation of meeting materials including agendas, minutes, reports and other collateral materials.
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Alumni Relations and Advancement Assistant for Alumni Digital Engagement on special alumni appeals, reunion giving, and other programs as developed.
  • Provide day-to-day management of Annual Giving budget.
  • Ongoing updating and management of donor records in Raiser's Edge; including notes and activities with individual donors.
  • Supervise the Advancement Assistant for Alumni Digital Engagement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing annual giving programs, preferably in an independent school setting
  • Proficiency in the use of Raiser's Edge (RE) or comparable CRM system
  • Proficiency in the use of the following software (or comparable products):
    • Microsoft Word (required)
    • Microsoft Excel (required)
    • PowerPoint (required)
    • Canva, Photoshop and other platforms for digital design (preferred)
    • GiveCampus (preferred)
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Strong written communication skills, with a preference for strong persuasive writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proven success in event planning and execution
  • Proven success in collaborative work environments
  • High level of customer/client service
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel on behalf of Trinity Valley School
