Assistant Controller

Job Summary: The Assistant Controller will oversee our comprehensive accounting functions on behalf of our client, managing tasks such as general ledger accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and transactional accounting. This role will report directly to our Corporate Controller and will ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of all accounting services.

Location: This role can be performed from either our office in Irvine, CA at I Jenner or our office in Los Angeles at  

Responsibilities:

• Manage the AMB General Ledger and ensure accurate integration and maintenance of all accounting data.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and various compliance reports including Mortgage Banking Financial Reporting Form to GSEs, Monthly Call Report, and agency covenant reporting.
• Handle investor reporting and contribute to the preparation for the annual audit.
• Manage accounts payable and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain a detailed documentation process to support accounting and compliance activities.
• Coordinate with client’s management and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition and ongoing communication.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in mortgage banking or related financial services accounting.
• Strong familiarity with AMB General Ledger systems and GSE reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
