Position: Hypersonic Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Location: Huntsville, AL

Status: Full-time


Position Description:

Gray Analytics is committed to delivering top-notch services and products tailored to meet the unique needs of our clientele. We are actively seeking highly skilled and motivated engineers who are poised to tackle challenges and drive the expansion of our hypersonics business sector.

Successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting the development of software encompassing physics-based modeling and simulation, machine learning applications, digital scene injection applications, system integration, testing, and engineering analysis for a hypersonic missile defense program.

This role will involve supporting our esteemed customer in Huntsville, Alabama. While the primary work environment will be a hybrid arrangement of at-home and in-office settings, occasional visits to Government facilities, integration laboratories, and hypersonic test facilities may be required, with travel comprising less than 10% of the role's responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated individual with a passion for tackling complex challenges, adept at quickly acquiring new skills, and capable of seamlessly integrating into a dynamic team environment, often operating remotely.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related Science/Engineering discipline from an institution accredited by ABET.
  • Proven experience in simulation software development within a Linux environment.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages, or similar equivalents, with a track record of software development.
  • Demonstrated interest in areas such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), structural analysis, thermal analysis, optics, and software development.
  • Exceptional critical thinking abilities and problem-solving aptitude, coupled with clear and effective communication skills.
  • Current residency in the North Alabama region or willingness to relocate to this area.
  • US Citizenship with an active US Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance, or eligibility and commitment to obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Desired:

  • Experience with Agile software development methodology.
  • Experience with Git configuration management.
  • Experience with quantitative data analysis, data reduction, uncertainty analysis, data visualization.
  • Ability to contribute technical expertise throughout the system lifecycle including design, integration, test, and delivery to operations.
  • Experience with online Collaboration tools (e.g., TEAMS, Sharepoint, JIRA)
  • Salary Considerations will be based on technical qualifications and experience.
