LMS Art Teacher

Jemicy School, which educates talented and bright college-bound students with dyslexia or other related language-based learning differences, is seeking a full-time Lower and Middle School (grades 1-8) visual arts teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate should possess a strong passion for creating and implementing student-centered educational art experiences that inspire children who have a broad range of learning styles. The visual arts teacher should have the ability to instruct students using a wide variety of artistic media (2D/3D), including digital arts, in order to develop students’ creative confidence, artistic curiosity, and technical ability. A bachelor’s/master’s degree in art education is required.

Responsibilities will include:

• Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Visual and Performing Arts Departments as well as all other school departments
• Using professional growth opportunities to further develop as a visual arts educator
• Becoming an engaged member of the Jemicy community by participating in school activities both inside and outside of the Visual Arts Department
• Continuing engagement in personal artistic practice
