Job Description
The purpose of the Switchboard Operator is to greet and assist incoming phone callers to the highest standards of courtesy and efficiency. The ideal candidate is highly confident in communicating relevant and detailed information between callers and receivers, in order to guarantee a seamless transfer while also fielding a high volume of calls.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Operate the telephone/switchboard per Firmdale standards
- Inquires as to the nature of calls to refer to the appropriate person or service.
- Ensuring that any guest request or issue is communicated to the manager on duty and follow-up takes place
- Sends messages by email, informing intended recipients as required
- Compiles daily reports and distributes them to applicable department managers
- Updates guest profiles in Opera PMS
- Covers reception shifts when required
- General administrative duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Customer service experience preferred
- Self-starter with exceptional organization and administrative skills
- Excellent level of spoken and written English
- Friendly and professional telephone etiquette
- Exceptional PC skills, especially Microsoft Excel
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
