• Reviews bid responses and selects the best vendor to meet county needs based on product specification, price, delivery, date, etc.
• Receives, reviews, analyzes and interprets requisitions for goods and services.
• Contacts vendor and/or departments to discuss, research and resolve any problems which may arise in regard to merchandise specifications or shipment of goods.
• Prepares purchase requisitions for review and approval by Purchasing Director; ensures processes and signature protocol are met.
• Assists Purchasing Director in preparing formal bid requests.
• Reviews, sorts and time stamps incoming purchasing related documents; prioritizes and submits all documents to Purchasing Director for review.
• Updates and maintains vendor files.
• Analyzes price and availability of products and their impact on County operations in terms of scheduling purchases; research comparable items for purchase and/or alternative vendors and maintains a reference library on commodities.
• Assists in preparing the annual budget of the Purchasing Department.
• Assists Purchasing Director in conducting training programs for all County departments pertaining to procurement related functions and applications.
• Works providing administrative support to the purchasing and procurement function in the county. Major functions include reviewing incoming purchase requests to ensure specification and/or description are adequate and properly described the product or service being purchased.
• Obtains competitive price quotes.
• Coordinates with the using department to obtain the required administrative information or documents necessary for processing the request.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Possession of a valid Georgia driver’s license (Class C) and a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR).
Salary: $70,232.86 annually, plus full benefits package
