Field Engineers are key employees of the Ednetics Team. A Field Engineer is a trusted technical resource for Customers, Account Managers, and other team members. They must be able to lead most projects within the Ednetics portfolio. They will be responsible for developing, designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting customer implementation throughout all stages of the project lifecycle. A Field Engineer exhibits confidence, efficiency, and attention to detail in their communication with customers and team members and may act as a mentor to Field Technicians or other Field Engineers. Field Engineers retain all duties and responsibilities of Field Technicians.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment and installation of network infrastructure, data center, digital security, device and classroom, phone and collaboration, and physical security project technologies for client sites, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across various hardware and software components.
  • Configure and integrate engineering projects with existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation and compatibility with client requirements.
  • Conduct thorough testing of all components to verify functionality and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during installation or post-deployment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, installation procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Provide detailed reports to clients and internal teams as needed.
  • Provide training to end-users on the operation and maintenance of deployed systems. Offer ongoing support and assistance to clients for any technical inquiries or issues.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met. Communicate effectively to coordinate resources and resolve any conflicts or challenges.
  • Assist with keeping Team best practices documentation relevant and up to date.
  • Promote consistency by effectuating the Project Peer Review process for self and others.
  • Consistently deliver Ednetics products, projects, and documents on time or ahead of schedule.
  • Assist the Support Team as an escalation point for Support cases.
  • Be able and available to travel to customer sites when needed. Be present in-office when not traveling or up to 60% of the time. Home office opportunities may be present up to 40% of the position's schedule with reliable home office Internet service.

Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of NetSuite with the ability to manage projects, track time, and work cases.
  • Strong knowledge of networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, etc.).
  • Understanding of the Pre-Sales, Customer Support, and project scope creation processes.
  • A strong working proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Visio, and Excel.
  • Superior technical skills, people skills. and a great attitude necessary.

Education and Experience

  • Two years of on-the-job experience with Ednetics authorized solutions.
  • Certified in Ednetics authorized partner solutions. Manufacturer certifications as necessary and directed by the Regional Engineering Manager.
  • Experience with and understanding of core infrastructure networking principles and troubleshooting. Specialized IT systems knowledge according to experience and/or as assigned.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Hold a current or relevant Associate-level technical certification recognized by Ednetics.

Continuing education and training may also be offered to enhance the position’s effectiveness and give the person an opportunity to gain new skills and fulfill professional growth.


Travel

20% - 40% travel is expected for onsite project assistance and possible team building and continuing education opportunities. Travel during high project periods can be up to 80%.
