Rochester Sensors, LLC is looking for a Full Time Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join the team in Coppell, TX!


YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of related experience, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Previously managed manufacturing or industrial engineering teams in a high mix / high SKU environment.
  • Experience in TPS/Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma Green Belt certification (Black Belt preferred).
  • Solid oral and written business communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Visio, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint), AutoCAD and Minitab.
  • Strong leadership skills - able to develop and communicate a vision and motivate others to achieve it.
  • Good organizational and work prioritization skills.
  • Desire for growth and advancement.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Responsible for supervising a temp responsible for the design, maintenance, and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, and plants. The manager ensures continuous improvement in process, cost, quality, and production, and coordinates projects, resources, and supports engineering product design, releases, and problems.

  • Be the primary interface between Manufacturing, Engineering departments, and plants.
  • Facilitate development of list of meaningful CI projects and execution of Continuous Improvement (CI) projects .
  • Be responsible for integrating a LEAN/CI approach, providing strong leadership to change the culture; implementing a manufacturing strategy which encompasses lean product development, lean manufacturing principles and optimization of process/product flow.
  • Provide DFx guidance to Design engineering during design and development of new products.
  • Develop cost effective tooling, fixtures and test platforms to support capacity requirements.
  • Lead organizational efforts to support factory including supporting NPIs efforts for production ramp, balancing production between plants, and other initiatives in alignment with Rochester Business Strategy.
  • Participate in product development reviews to ensure manufacturing engineering and manufacturing operations readiness for upcoming initiatives and products.
  • Run kaizen events and rapid problem-solving exercises and other learning events.
  • Drive factory yield improvements through establishing systems/tools that enable effective data capture, process enhancements, design changes and early design input during new product development.
  • Execute and manage capital and noncapital projects (such as cost reduction, transitions, etc.
  • Drive improvement of unit cost management including cost savings, quality measures, product cost, productivity, escapes and first pass yields.
  • Drives deployment of Built in Quality, the reduction in quality escapes, and Cost of Quality for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Support the Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures.
  • Provides data for analysis and identification of capital equipment needs to address gaps in capacity, including justification, process management and installation. Drive adherence to department budgets.
  • Provide hands on support to ensure improvements or achievement of Annual Operating Plan in the following: On-Time Delivery, PPM, DPM, Cycle-time Reduction, First Pass Yield, Material and Labor Cost, Supplier Quality, Scrap, Rework, and Supplier Lead Time.

Must be able to work onsite. Some job stress due to required deadlines for specific projects. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
