Description:

The Lead Spa Therapist will work with the Wellness Director to supervise the spa therapy team, ensuring smooth daily operations. They will coordinate schedules, provide training and guidance to therapists, maintain quality standards, and handle customer inquiries or complaints. Additionally, they will perform spa treatments themselves while also overseeing the team's performance. Strong leadership, communication, and technical skills are important for this role.

  • Therapeutic Services: Perform a variety of spa treatments, including massages and/or facials, body wraps, and other therapeutic services, using a range of techniques and products to meet clients' needs and preferences.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide leadership and guidance to the spa therapy team, including massage therapists, estheticians, and other practitioners. Delegate tasks, set performance expectations, and provide training and support as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of service quality and professionalism among the therapy team. Conduct regular evaluations and provide feedback to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery.
  • Client Consultations: Conduct thorough client consultations to assess their needs, preferences, and any contraindications or medical considerations. Customize treatments accordingly and recommend appropriate products or services for at-home care.
  • Product Knowledge and Sales: Stay informed about spa products, treatments, and techniques, and educate clients on their benefits. Promote retail sales of spa products and recommend add-on services to enhance the client experience.
  • Safety and Hygiene: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in treatment rooms and spa facilities. Implement protocols for disinfection, sterilization, and sanitation to prevent the spread of infections.
  • Client Relations: Build strong relationships with clients by providing personalized attention, excellent customer service, and follow-up care. Address client concerns or complaints promptly and professionally to ensure a positive experience.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment among spa staff. Coordinate schedules, communicate effectively, and work together to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for spa therapists to enhance their skills, knowledge, and expertise. Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices and share relevant information with the team.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing client records, processing payments, and maintaining inventory levels. Ensure accuracy and efficiency in all administrative tasks to support smooth spa operations.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of therapy team members, including assessing productivity, client satisfaction, and adherence to spa policies and procedures. Recognize achievements and address any performance issues in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, service enhancement, and revenue generation within the spa. Implement innovative ideas and initiatives to attract new clients, increase customer loyalty, and drive business growth.
