General
This is a full-time position that reports to the Director of People Services and interacts with all employees of the Company as a member of the People Services Team. The individual in this position will also interact with various government regulatory authorities such as the FAA/ Drug Abatement Office, OSHA, EEOC, Department of Labor, or others as required. The successful candidate must be able to represent the Company well and exhibit the values and culture of the company while working with all employee groups in a fast-paced/dynamic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer company health benefit plans, serving as the primary point of contact for benefits-related inquiries, new hire orientation, open enrollment processes, and benefit billing.
- Manage all aspects of leave administration, including FMLA, LOA, STD/LTD, and Worker’s Comp. Review and respond to leave requests, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Provide assistance and backup coverage in processing semi-monthly payroll through ADP for all company personnel, ensuring accuracy and timeliness as well as a thorough understanding of the payroll process.
- Respond to unemployment compensation claims, garnishments, child support orders and various other requests from state authorities; provide employment verifications as needed.
- Address and resolve employee inquiries regarding benefits and leave; tracks leave requests to remain compliant with all applicable laws; communicate leave status updates to management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, assisting with compliance and departmental audits.
- Maintains current on knowledge of all state and federal leave laws, ensuring company policies remain compliant.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of People Services to support departmental objectives.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in benefits administration, leave management, and payroll processing.
- Proficiency with ADP or similar payroll software, Microsoft Office, and basic computer knowledge
- General understanding of state and federal employment laws, particularly regarding benefits and leave.
- Familiarity with general human resources processes and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines independently
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work in office Monday-Friday, with flexibility to work outside normal business hours on occasion, as business needs
