Job Description:
Casne Engineering is seeking a meticulous and skilled Electrical Engineer to join our specialized team, focusing on arc flash studies and comprehensive power system analyses. The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, proficiency in using industry-standard power system modeling software such as SKM PowerTools, and a strong aptitude for problem-solving in complex electrical environments In this position, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive harmonic studies and load flow analyses to ensure the stability and efficiency of electrical distribution systems, while also identifying and mitigating potential issues to optimize performance and reliability. Occasional travel or site visits may be required to assist in data collection alongside a licensed electrician.
Responsibilities
- Design of Industrial and Commercial power, communication, lighting, and control systems, including:
- Medium and Low-Voltage Power Distribution Systems
- Emergency and Standby Power Systems
- Interior and Exterior Lighting
- Networking, Security, and Auxiliary Systems Design
- Power System Modeling
- Load Studies
- Short Circuit Analysis
- Protective Device Coordination / Arc Flash Calculations / Studies
- Crafting power study analysis reports to deliver critical insights and actionable recommendations, thereby facilitating strategic decision-making and operational enhancements in electrical power systems
Required (Technical)
- BSEE degree and 2+ years industry experience
- Experience with engineering software including SKM, Easy Power, ETAP
- Proficiency with the MS Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and management of PDF documents
Required (Business)
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple deadline-driven tasks effectively and efficiently, including a proactive approach to follow-up
- Successful completion of background checks (including possible drug testing, depending on the client) for access badging requirements
- Ability to travel to customer locations as required to research existing conditions, coordinate with third parties, install and configure equipment, commission final solutions, and support customers
Preferences
- Washington State P.E. in Electrical. Other states accepted.
- Prior experience with relay settings and protective device coordination
