C&I Engineering is looking for a talented and driven individual to join our team!


About the opportunity: Senior Power Engineer


We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Power Engineer in our Louisville, KY office to help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Electrical Engineering team, which is responsible for developing designs for electrical/power systems and performing a variety of computer-based modeling, design, engineering, and planning tasks on projects. C&I is a full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management, and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.


Responsibilities include:

  • The Senior Power Engineer is responsible for designing electrical equipment for oil & gas, petrochemical, and other related facilities.
  • Design industrial power distribution systems, including equipment specifications, protection schemes, load analysis, fault, and coordination studies.
  • Performs electrical engineering calculations, including load studies, voltage drop calculations, wire and conduit sizing, and motor sizing.
  • The Senior Power Engineer uses ETAP, SKM, and other similar modeling software.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering program with a minimum of 6 years of related work experience, or a bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering technology program with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally to client locations, vendor shops, and project sites. Travel may be up to 10%.
  • Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.
  • Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, which could include exposure to the weather, heights, small spaces, noise, etc., while working on job sites.
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License.
