About the Role

As Commercial Insurance Underwriter- General Lines and Professional Liability, you partner with agents and brokers, as well as the internal sales team, to provide coverages for new and renewal customers’ needs. Products liability and professional liability coverages are important coverages you’ll focus as this organization 100% focused in allied healthcare which has unique medical equipment and direct patient care exposures. Based in the Midwest, they underwrite programs nationally for hospice and home health agencies, physical therapy, medical distributors, senior living, and home medical equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Underwrite and service new business and renewal accounts, ensure retail and wholesale distribution partners service insureds appropriately. 
• Evaluate insurance risks to determine eligibility, profitability, and desirability; accept or decline risks in accordance with established guidelines.

Skills & Experience

Approximately 3-5 years of commercial insurance underwriting experience with binding authority. The core coverage targets for this role are Professional Liability and General Liability.

Possess a strong underwriting of property and casualty insurance including coverages, rating, terminology, technical procedures, and ISO rules and rates.

Job Specs

Location:  100% remote, work-from-home with occasional travel required to the corporate office which is based in the Midwest as well as trade shows and association events.
