Job description

Job Title: Senior Group Fitness Instructor

Job Summary: This job is located in FALLS CHURCH, VIRGINIA - IF YOU NOT LOCATED IN FALLS CHURCH, NO NEED TO APPLY

Svetness Corp is seeking an energetic and compassionate Senior Group Fitness Instructor (can be Sit and Fit Class) to lead engaging fitness classes designed specifically for our active aging population. This instructor will create safe, effective, and enjoyable workouts that support strength, balance, mobility, and cardiovascular health while fostering a welcoming community environment for members.

The ideal candidate is passionate about helping older adults stay active, independent, and socially connected through fitness.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Lead safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes designed for active older adults.

  • Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and exercise modifications to accommodate a variety of fitness levels and physical abilities.
  • Incorporate exercises that improve strength, balance, mobility, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.
  • Create a supportive and welcoming class atmosphere that encourages participation and community among members.
  • Monitor participants throughout class to ensure proper technique and safety.
  • Prepare structured class plans appropriate for the senior population.

Qualifications

· Current nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, or equivalent).

· CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required.

  • Certification or specialization in Senior Fitness, Active Aging, SilverSneakers, or Functional Aging preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching group fitness classes, especially with older adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong member-service mindset.

Skills & Competencies

· Knowledge of functional fitness, balance training, and fall prevention.

  • Ability to provide modifications for common conditions such as arthritis, joint limitations, and osteoporosis.
  • Ability to motivate and connect with members in a positive and encouraging way.
  • Strong focus on member experience and community building

Work Location: In person class to be taught at the Senior Living facility located on S. Jefferson Street, Falls Church, VA 22041 The class will be taught 1 time a week every Wednesday from 10 - 11 a.m.
