Job description

Title: Senior Product Designer
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Duration: 12 Months
100% Onsite (On-site 1-2 days a week ideally)
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Designer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of user experience principles and the ability to work independently on projects as the lead designer. This role must be able to manage the design delivery for complex, fast paced programs. This role requires close collaboration with business teams to deliver high-quality product decisions that drive high quality designs for platforms, websites, native apps and AI interfaces. The Senior Product Designer will also oversee the work of other UX designers and visual designers, providing feedback to improve design quality.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the design delivery and design milestones for one or more digital programs and report out status to leadership through clear communication
  • Plan design deliverable milestones, estimate project timelines based on scope and requirements, and manage other designers to meet the deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with business teams to understand project requirements, translate them into design decisions, and receive timely approvals to meet project deadlines.
  • Create high-quality screen designs quickly using existing brand guidelines and design systems.
  • Deliver wireframes and flows in Figma, ensuring consistency and all business and user requirements are met.
  • Oversee and provide feedback on the work of other designers to ensure design quality meets expectations.
  • Produce high-quality visual design deliverables, including mockups, prototypes, and final assets.
  • Present design concepts and solutions to leadership and stakeholders effectively and identify any risks to project milestones in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Senior Product Designer or similar role leading design phases for digital programs, including but not limited to responsive marketing website projects, native app projects, platforms and portals.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, visual design principles and user research best practices.
  • Ability to plan and lead design thinking workshops and requirement workshops with business and product teams
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with design systems strategy and native app design strategy.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor junior designers.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous design work.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working on agile teams.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and front-end development principles.
