About the Role:

The Revenue Cycle Physician Support Specialist is responsible for securing vital information for accurate billing. The Revenue Cycle Physician Support Specialist will be responsible for providing non-coding related support to ensure accurate and timely billing.

The Details: This is a remote position, working afternoon/evenings, start time between 2pm-5pm CT to 10pm-12am CT. 8 hour shift, M-F.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Accessing and navigating various facilities EMRs to obtain the appropriate information to ensure it is captured for billing purposes
  • Providing support to our billing vendor for obtaining medical records and demographic information for billing purposes
  • Conducting outreach to our hospital partners and other internal departments to obtain vital information for billing purposes
  • Generating and compiling reports required to determine day to day priorities, operational needs, etc.
  • Ensuring unbilled charges are resolved within internal Service Level Agreement
  • Providing insight on areas of opportunity to reduce billing delays and increase charge creation turnaround time
  • Completing task in various Payor Portals
  • Other projects and data entry tasks as assigned

Knowledge:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Software Products (Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)

  • Basic knowledge of a the elements of a medical record (i.e. progress note, face sheet, etc.)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to resource information from others in the organization to establish facts, draw conclusions and problem solve

Experience:

  • Knowledge of, and skilled in the use of various computer and related systems and software
