MTM is looking for a DCS Dispatcher to join our team.

Job Description

The DCS Dispatcher works to direct the day-to-day route and trip operations, assists with organizing and conducting activities to assure safe, cost-effective, on-time operating performance, tracks and reports sign-in/sign-out times, assure routes are timely, and communicate service issues to the appropriate personnel. This work is done in compliance with the procedures defined by the client and in conformance with company procedures, which involve daily communication and interaction with drivers and monitors (as applicable). This position supports our Department of Child Safety (DCS) team.

Pay: $16.00/hr

What will your job look like?:

  • Assign same-day and urgent trips to Independent Contracted Drivers and Employee Drivers
  • Schedule and assign future DCS trips
  • Work closely with the Call Center Manager and clients to provide trip updates and estimated time of arrival
  • Understand the county zone mapping systems to organize and route trips based on schedule and location to ensure optimal fleet performance
  • Assist transportation providers and drivers with issues related to trip performance
  • Document and report provider no-shows or on-time-performance issues
  • Inform transportation providers of any new trips that occur
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with transportation providers
  • Provide feedback to leadership and Fleet Management on transportation providers' performance
  • Practice and follow all compliance guidelines
  • Understand and follow Department of Child Safety (DCS) Transportation Policies and Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

All you need is:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • 2+ years in transportation routing, dispatching, and scheduling expertise preferred
  • 1 year experience working with the applicable transit scheduling system preferred
  • 6 months of customer service experience
  • Knowledge of GPS and GIS systems preferred
  • Possess valid authorization to work in the United States

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills with attention to timeliness and details
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective use of scheduling software, two-way radio communication and data analysis skills
  • Skills in the use of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Regular attendance is required

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to move around an office environment
