Materials Dispatcher
Department: Manufacturing - Machine Shop
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Columbia, PA - Plant
Compensation: $22.81 / hour
Description
As a Material Dispatcher, you will be responsible for keeping the Inventory locations clean and organized, assisting supervisors with work center schedules and material movements, partner with the Supervisor or Expeditor on special projects and assignments, work closely with the material handlers to assure proper product flow, and other duties and responsibilities as outlined by supervision.
How You Will Help:
  • This role will be responsible for reviewing work center dispatch reports, issuing and printing travelers for manufacturing orders (MO's)
  • Issuing the MO's to the material handlers to pull and issue materials
  • Responsible for Inventory accuracy in inventory locations
  • Responsibilities will include, but are not be limited to:
  • Cycle counting inventory in your area of responsibility.
  • Investigate and address inventory discrepancies upon discovery. Use a cross functional team when necessary to investigate abnormalities.
  • Provide the information required to correct discrepancies in the system to the Supervisor or Expeditor.
  • Assist with scheduling and moving material to equipment as needed.
  • Assist the material handler with transactions, issuing and staging material.
  • Partner with the Supervisor or Expeditor to assure smooth flow of product.
  • Must be a licensed fork lift operator able to move material from location to location.
  • Will be responsible for setting up specific inventory locations with bar code labels, use of hand held scanners and be responsible for the upkeep of the areas as well as assuring all transactions are being performed properly.
  • This position has responsibility for assuring we can manufacture and move goods throughout the facility using the M3 system.
  • Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
