Engineering Aide

IE is seeking an Engineering Aide for our IEC-Price, Utah facility. We are growing! Intermountain Electronics, Inc is a leading provider of custom engineered and manufactured process and electrical systems to the mining, oil & gas, and utility industries in North America. Our turnkey products are generally mobile - mounted on skids or in portable e-houses.

The Engineering Aide preforms entry level engineering tasks and assignments to assist the broader engineering group.

What you will do.

Essential Functions

The Engineering Aide will understand and carry out a variety of drafting and clerical tasks assigned by the Engineering Manager.

* Collaborate with other engineers and workers to design, develop, test, and improve products and engineering processes.
* Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings using Auto Cad, Solid Edge or similar engineering CAD software.
* Use 3D modeling and 2D drawings to complete physical and mechanical designs, details, drawings, and layouts for manufactured equipment.
* Design small features and ancillary items to support high level project.
* Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
* Assist in laser nesting and detailing.
* Research and provide documentation on project design needs.
* Evaluate products and processes and ensure standardization of quality assurance measures.
* Participate in various learning experiences, which may include attending workshops and training sessions.
* Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Associate's degree (bachelor's degree preferred) in related field. 3-6 months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Practical experience with engineering software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, Solid Edge, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to write professional business correspondence and routine reports.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions one on one in small group situations to other employees of the organization.
• Knowledge of and have practical proficiency in AutoCAD and or Solid Edge engineering software and Microsoft Office Products.
