Position: Learning and Development Coordinator (LDC)

Salary Range: $21.54 to $32.31

Summary: The Learning and Development Coordinator is an enthusiastic and results-driven professional dedicated to facilitating the seamless integration and ongoing growth of new team members. The coordinator ensures a cohesive talent acquisition and development approach through effective collaboration and strategic planning, ultimately driving organizational success. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to serve our members and community.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

•Apply adult learning theory (ADDIE model) knowledge to identify appropriate training media and methodologies based on audience learning styles, course content, audience location, and points within the learning process. Learning content is created for traditional classrooms, online classrooms, self-paced online modules, or a blend of approaches.

•Conduct new team member orientation sessions and on-the-job training, including development, health, and safety practices, new hire data entry, and credit union policies and practices.

•In collaboration with and under the supervision of the Learning and Development Manager, evaluates and assists in designing training manuals, outlines, related course materials, learning modules, training procedures, and training classes; determine instructional methods, utilizing individual training, group instructions, demonstrations, webinars, and workshops; selects or develops training aids such as PowerPoint presentations, handbooks, visual aids, and tutorials.

•Manage the credit union's online learning system to track all mandated and recommended training completion. Manage and maintain the credit union's training library and ensure its contents are current, relevant, and accessible to all team members. Work with the management team to ensure regulatory and other required training programs are up-to-date and completed as required or assigned.

•Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with team members, and course materials; recommend new training courses and programs to support the credit union's goals and objectives; measure, monitor, and evaluate current and new training programs to ensure effectiveness. Assists with all annual credit union events, including all-staff meetings and events.

•Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment; collaborate with other departments in all training and development-related needs.

•Analyze performance needs and designs, develop and assess specific learning solutions focused on continuous organizational learning and development needs.

•Create and develop performance and competency-based learning and performance support solutions that promote practice, retention, and application of new skills and knowledge.

•Define learning objectives and goals for success-map these to appropriate learning modalities to build a robust training curriculum.

•Lead or participate in defining the communication plan designed to influence or change behavior positively; develop tailored messaging and identify appropriate distribution channels.

•Conduct content reviews and train-the-trainer sessions with Learning & Development Specialists and Managers, internal Subject Matter Experts, and Train-the-Trainer Program participants and stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and validity of all training deliverables.

•Participate in teams and projects as a representative of Learning and Development, providing advice, expertise, and solutions to support strategic initiatives.

•Conduct needs/task assessments to determine knowledge objectives. Create, deploy, and monitor the completion of appropriate knowledge transfer/learning solutions using various delivery methods.

Evaluate and ensure program effectiveness through measurement and statistical analysis.

•Perform all duties and maintain all sensitive data with the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism. Consistently display respect for all areas of diversity, levels of knowledge, and leadership interest.

•Analyze the emerging learning technology environment to continue to drive design and development within the teams.

•Facilitate and implement all phases of the recruitment process, including participating in job fairs and other recruiting sessions.

•Partner with department managers to identify and draft accurate and detailed job descriptions and hiring criteria to create job postings. Maintain up-to-date job descriptions, job postings, and job announcements (internally and externally).

•Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the organization's needs.

•Collaborate with the hiring manager and other human resource staff to identify potential candidates.

•In partnership with the HR Business Partner and/or Chief Human Resources Officer, and as needed, screen and select potential candidates for interviews and prepare interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.

•Learn and apply new technologies to the design, development, and delivery of online learning, including audio, video, and animation.

Requirements

Experience/Education Requirements:

•Minimum of two to five years of similar or related experience in adult learning and all aspects of instructional design for various formats, including instructor-led, eLearning, and multiple types of performance support

•(1) Bachelor's degree in Learning and Development, Instructional Design, or related field, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., Human Resources certifications instead of a degree)

•Certification in Instructional Design preferred.

•Knowledge of the credit union industry and previous financial industry experience preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities:

•Proven knowledge of Instructional Design theory, iterative development processes, and evaluation methods

•Proficiency with multimedia design and authoring tools like Adobe Captivate, Articulate360, Camtasia, Powtoon, Vyond, or similar programs.

•Must be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

•Excellent listening and customer service attributes; clear and practical oral and written communication skills must be demonstrated.
