The shift for this role is Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Machine Operator

Our Machine Operator is primarily responsible for operating the WeighPack/Swifty Bagger and any tasks related to the bagging machine. This position is also responsible for repairing precision parts using both your own manufacturing knowledge and working with off-site technicians. Additionally, this Operator will ensure effective machine operations and optimized production, while also maintaining various logs i.e. production, inventory, cleaning, and quality assurance checks.

Your role in caring for our company:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain clean working environment and ensure safety and compliance.
  • Survey the daily cleaning of machinery and equipment used and maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Operate WeighPack bagging unit in compliance with operator's manual and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure equipment is clean and calibrated at the start of day, between strains, and end of day.
  • Maintain daily production logs.
  • Verify start weight and end weight of source package, as well as piece count for all unit-based inventory.
  • Confirm all packaging is compliant prior to vault storage; verify that all product is labeled and sealed properly.
  • Assist associates with labels and QC checks.
  • Identify issues with the machine as they present themselves and work through solutions in partnership with manager, Department Head, and Weigh Pack Technicians.
  • Work cohesively with various departments and provides operational support when deemed necessary and approved by management.
  • Complete duties on time and willingness to accept additional job duties and responsibilities.
  • Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers about daily production output.
  • Must be comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures from 55°-85°

All other duties as necessary.

Qualifications we ask you to have:

  • For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
  • You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
  • We ask that you have at least a high school diploma/GED.
  • We ask that you have a minimum of two (2) years of machine operator experience.

Addition skills which will help you excel in your role:

  • Ability and comfort with using power-operated machine tools.
  • Comfortable using technology/computers to operate machine(s).
  • Comfortable working around high-speed machinery.
  • Comfortable with heights (up to 12 feet).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, our machinery is imperative to the lifecycle and proper care of our plants!
  • Desire and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers.
  • Strong work ethic; must be accountable and proactive.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a high production environment.
  • We ask that you do not have allergies to plant materials or nitrile gloves; this position requires daily exposure to cannabis plants and nitrile gloves. 

Work Schedule/Location:

  • On-site 5 days a week.

  • This position requires an inordinate amount of sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, scooping, twisting, and reaching in full range of motion to complete physical tasks.
  • This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted, up to 80lbs assisted, and at times 10lbs. above your head.
  • This position is similar to an assembly line, in that it will be completing repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • This position requires the ability to work in a cannabis growing facility, there will be strong odors, bright lights, and various noises throughout the workday.
  • This position will require PPE to be worn throughout the workday to include scrubs, masks, gloves, and hairnets while working with the plants. DCM will provide scrubs, gloves, and hair nets to all employees.
