Located in Indian River County, IMG Citrus operates as one of Florida's main distributors of fresh citrus. SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
IMG Citrus is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Packaging Machine Technician/Equipment Reliability Specialist to lead equipment performance on our production floor. This position is responsible for driving uptime, owning equipment reliability, and partnering with operations to eliminate recurring issues. You will be the go-to technical expert for troubleshooting, repairing and optimizing bagging and packing systems, while building a proactive maintenance culture that supports operational excellence.
JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Lead real-time troubleshooting and repair of bagging machines, conveyors, scales, and packing systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Own and execute a structured Preventive Maintenance (PM) program focused on reliability and uptime.
  • Identify chronic equipment issues and implement permanent corrective actions (RCA mindset).
  • Work directly on the production floor with operators and supervisors to resolve issues at the source.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, establish min/max levels, and ensure critical parts availability.
  • Serve as primary liaison with OEMs and vendor technicians for advanced troubleshooting and escalations.
  • Support equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help standardize maintenance practices and elevate overall technical capability on the floor.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food processing, produce or packaging
  • Advanced troubleshooting capability across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems (required)
  • Strong experience with automated bagging, packing and conveyor systems
  • Proven ability to diagnose root causes and drive long-term equipment reliability improvements
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and systems layouts
  • Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
  • Know and abide by all company policies, Rules and Regulations
  • Observe safety procedures - report potentially unsafe conditions
  • Must be flexible with hours of operations
  • Ability to multitask

Preferred:
  • Experience in citrus or fresh produce packing operations
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, sensors, and controls
  • CMMS experience (maintenance tracking and PM systems)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

WORK HOURS & ENVIRONMENT
40+ hours work week and required to work additional hours during peak times as needed. Weekends and nights are required as needed.
