Mechanical Technician

Location: Houston, TX | On-Site

Pay: $50-70k (depending on experience)

Schedule: Full-Time Monday - Fridays / Days

If you're mechanically inclined, enjoy figuring out how equipment works and why it fails, and would rather be hands-on than sitting behind a desk, this could be a great next step.


We're looking for a Technician to join our Irvine service center, where you'll work hands-on with specialized cryogenic pumps and rotating equipment used in demanding industrial applications.


You'll do much more than replace parts. You'll tear equipment down, diagnose failures, inspect components, rebuild pumps to precise tolerances, troubleshoot issues, and help return critical equipment to reliable operation.


Already have cryogenic experience? Fantastic.

Don't? We're still interested in strong mechanical technicians with transferable pump, rotating equipment, industrial maintenance, machining, motor, or equipment-repair experience.


You'll be responsible for the hands-on repair and rebuilding of customer cryogenic pumps, including:

  • Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild cryogenic pumps, motors, and related equipment
  • Diagnose damaged or worn components and help identify potential causes of equipment failure
  • Assemble pump components including bearings, seals, shafts, and related mechanical components
  • Fit, align, and adjust components to precise tolerances
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, prints, schematics, and work instructions
  • Perform detailed dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments
  • Document measurements, tolerances, and clearances during the rebuild process
  • Perform troubleshooting, rework, and repair as needed
  • Contribute to failure analysis and root-cause investigations
  • Operate shop equipment including drill presses, hydraulic presses, bench grinders, pipe threading and bending equipment, cutting torches, band saws, and related tools
  • Communicate technical findings and repair evaluations when needed
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, sales, and service teams
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using 5S principles
  • Complete quality repairs safely, accurately, and on schedule


Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a shop, repair, maintenance, or similar mechanical environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read mechanical prints, drawings, or schematics
  • Experience using hand tools, shop equipment, and precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to perform detailed inspections and work to close tolerances
  • Strong attention to quality and safety
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team


Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Pumps or pump repair
  • Rotating equipment
  • Bearings, seals, shafts, impellers, or motors
  • Industrial mechanical equipment
