Position Overview

Reliance One, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Field Engineer to support construction, startup, and commissioning activities for industrial and building electrical systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate electrical system startup and commissioning activities
  • Review product submittals, shop drawings, engineering designs, and RFIs
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards including OSHA, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, and arc flash procedures
  • Interpret and apply building codes and industry standards (IBC, NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.)
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors on equipment testing, delivery, installation, and handover
  • Support construction scheduling, including weekend and shutdown work coordination
  • Conduct ongoing inspections to ensure quality, compliance, and progress
  • Monitor contractor performance and adherence to project milestones
  • Participate in weekly coordination meetings and support project administration activities
  • Prepare field engineering reports and provide updates to project managers
  • Identify opportunities to improve technical specifications and processes


Required Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of professional experience, including 2+ years in construction management
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design or field engineering
  • Experience with electrical system design criteria and industrial construction environments
  • Automotive or similar manufacturing facility experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Bluebeam and AutoCAD
  • Multi-discipline background (electrical, civil, etc.)
  • Experience with substation or mechanical equipment startup/commissioning
  • Familiarity with Toyota production systems or Kanban methodologies
