Job description

A North American leader in Construction is seeking an Electrical Field Service Technician. This position is based out of Harrison, OH.
Summary
The Electrical Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment and components. This role requires experience with both 480V systems and low/control voltage, strong technical skills with tools, and a commitment to safety and quality in both shop and field environments. Overnight travel is required approximately 40% of the time.
Responsibilities
  • Install and commission electrical equipment and systems, including PDPs, junction boxes, terminal blocks, lighting, outlets, DIN rail components, and fuses
  • Install and mount field devices; terminate cables to instrumentation, marshaling cabinets, and junction boxes
  • Run conduit and pull wiring for high- and low-voltage systems
  • Connect electrical circuits ranging from low-voltage DC to 480V, 3-phase systems, ensuring proper compatibility and adherence to safety standards
  • Complete work orders, parts documentation, billing, and warranty reports
  • Communicate with customers regarding service needs and repairs
  • Maintain an organized work area and service vehicle
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Plan and execute assignments as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, Electrician, or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints
  • Combination of education and experience totaling 6+ years in electrical troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience using multimeters, hand tools (pliers, wire strippers, etc.), and power tools (drills, saws, grinders, etc.)
  • Understanding of power vs. control wiring
  • Knowledge of cable sizing and proper ferrule/crimp usage
  • Experience with control cabinets and electrical panels preferred
  • Ability to read schematics is a plus
  • Forklift operation required
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; must meet driver qualification requirements (MVR, physical, road test)
  • Ability to perform physical job requirements, including lifting, climbing, prolonged standing, and working in varying weather conditions
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, and travel as needed
  • Must provide own basic hand tools (larger tools provided)
