Role OverviewThe Electrical Maintenance Technician provides first‑line technical support for all production and assembly machinery, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation across the facility. This role focuses heavily on electrical troubleshooting, automation support, and equipment reliability, while also performing mechanical maintenance as needed. The technician plays a key role in minimizing downtime, executing preventive maintenance strategies, supporting new equipment installations, and partnering with Engineering and Operations to drive continuous improvement.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)Plans equipment Preventative Maintenance schedules, shutdowns, and repairs with managementControls equipment downtime, Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and organization/housekeeping improvementsProduces a daily and monthly activity reportControls equipment materials and spare parts accuracy for items under repairCarries out the Time-Based Maintenance Preventive Maintenance module in SAP systemReports results and improvement plans for Maintenance activitiesCollaborate with Engineering for new equipment installationReviews and supports the efficient maintenance of equipment, provides weekly and monthly reportsReviews weekend plans, shutdown plans, Preventive Maintenance plans, one-point lessons, and the maintenance manualEnsures accuracy of equipment materials and spare partsProvides detailed lists of equipment inconsistencies with countermeasuresSupports and updates improvements to equipment and parts repairsSupports and conduct troubleshooting for equipment failuresCreates a breakdown repair equipment manual for future repairsAssesses and coordinates departmental training needs and develops training plansMaintains Personal Protective Equipment per OSHA and Mobis Alabama standardsComplies with and promotes safety in the workplace, to include attendance at safety meetings; conducts safety meetings when necessarySupports the Maintenance Supervisor as neededAUTHORITY & SCOPEThis role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)Required Education & Experience:High school diploma or GED2–5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment. Electrical troubleshooting experience - hands‑on work with motors, sensors, relays, contactors, and control circuits in a manufacturing environmentExperience with automation components - exposure to VFDs, proximity sensors, photoeyes, safety circuits, and control panelsKnowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TMP) techniquesUse of industrial tools and diagnostic equipment - multimeters, torque tools, alignment tools, etcWorking Knowledge of Schematics and Electrical SystemsWorking Knowledge of Servo Motors and ControlsWorking Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance PracticesHydraulics and pneumatics knowledge - understanding of valves, cylinders, actuators, and air systemsKnowledge of centrifugal PumpsStrong safety awareness - understanding of LOTO, electrical safety, and safe machine practicesRequired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointGood written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and technical skillsPreferred Education & Experience:Experience in Welding (GMAW/MIG/FSW/Laser) and Press ProcessExperience in automotive manufacturing environmentExperience in battery manufacturing environmentAbility to understand 2D/3D drawings and knowledge of design toolsERP experienceWorking Conditions:Office setting, some walking within and between buildingsOvertime as neededFrequent travel with possible overnight or extended stays*This role will provide direct support to 2nd shift operations*
