Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 1st shift, 10 hr shift (possible overtime as needed)

About the Role

Weaver Nut Company is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our production team. This position is responsible for operating and supporting an automated packaging line used to package snack and confectionery products into bags, pouches, and cases in our climate controlled SQF Certified facility.

The Machine Operator will operate and support production and packaging equipment used to process, package, inspect, and prepare finished products. This role is important to keeping production running safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company quality and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate production and packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor equipment, product flow, and finished product quality throughout production.
  • Load and replenish product, packaging materials, and supplies as needed.
  • Perform routine quality checks to ensure products meet company standards.
  • Identify, remove, and report products that do not meet quality or food safety requirements.
  • Assist with equipment setup, product changeovers, and adjustments.
  • Perform troubleshooting and notify the appropriate team members when issues arise.
  • Follow all company safety, food safety, GMP, sanitation, and allergen control procedures.
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and production-ready.
  • Complete required production, quality, downtime, and cleaning documentation accurately.
  • Communicate equipment issues, material needs, quality concerns, and safety concerns to supervisors, maintenance, and quality personnel.
  • Support efficient production, reduced downtime, and consistent, high-quality finished products.

Qualifications

Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Prior machine operation experience preferred.

Food manufacturing, snack, confectionery, or packaging experience is a plus.

Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn automated packaging equipment.

Ability to follow written procedures, safety rules, and production instructions.

Strong attention to detail.

English reading, writing, and math skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, cool climate controlled production environment.

Ability to communicate clearly and work well with others.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 60lbs and handle product, packaging materials, cases, and machine components as needed.

Ability to bend, reach, climb steps/platforms, and work around production equipment.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with machinery, moving parts, noise, and food ingredients.

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is helpful but not required:

VFFS baggers, premade pouch machines, multi-head scales, checkweighers, X-ray inspection systems, conveyors, case erectors, case sealers, robotic packaging systems, and/or printers. SQF/GMP standards.
