Position: Packaging Machine Operator
Pay Rate: $21.95–$22.45/hour
Location: Stockton, CA

Schedule: Open Availability Required | All Shifts

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Packaging Machine Operator to operate and monitor packaging equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for maintaining efficient packaging operations, troubleshooting equipment issues, minimizing product and film waste, and ensuring finished products meet established quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate packaging equipment associated with the manufacturing process.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor vertical form-fill and horizontal form-fill packaging equipment.
  • Monitor packaging machinery throughout production to ensure proper operation and product quality.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust statistical weighing equipment to minimize product giveaway and improve accuracy.
  • Monitor film usage and make adjustments to reduce film waste.
  • Anticipate film and coding ribbon changes to minimize downtime and maximize machine efficiency.
  • Identify equipment problems and make appropriate adjustments or corrections.
  • Monitor line performance and proactively troubleshoot issues that could impact production.
  • Utilize OIT/HMI systems and process-control functionality to monitor and adjust equipment.
  • Complete production and line logs accurately and legibly.
  • Operate barcode equipment as required.
  • Perform product and packaging quality checks throughout production runs.
  • Assist with training and supporting new employees on packaging processes and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.
  • Perform additional production and packaging duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous packaging machine operation or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with vertical form-fill and/or horizontal form-fill equipment strongly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience operating or adjusting statistical weighing equipment is a plus.
  • Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with OIT/HMI systems and process controls preferred.
  • Ability to accurately complete production documentation and line logs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to identify equipment problems and make timely adjustments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be flexible and available to work any shift.
