Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Internship

This internship is fully onsite at our Monongahela, PA (Pittsburgh suburbs).

The Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Intern will primarily assist with data management, zero waste to landfill operations, environmental reporting, as well as furtherance of the DMI sustainability corporate mission through a variety of interpersonal programs. This internship opportunity is designed to provide experience within the corporate environmental responsibility disciplines.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Assist DMI Sustainability with Waste management.
• Sustainability Outreach and programing
• Zero Waste to Landfill audits
• Sustainability project implementation support
• Perform Waste Audits, area spot checking.

EDUCATION/SKILLS

• Enrolled in a 4-year B.S./B.A in Environmental Studies, Sustainability or Environmental Science degree or some variant thereof
• 2-4 years general, non-specific work experience
• Demonstrates dynamic critical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
• Experience working in a Sustainability or Environmental programs preferred.
• Experience in high school to collegiate level design methods preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office software a plus.
• Experience in general construction projects a plus.
• Should possess good communication skills (written and oral).
• Must be able to incorporate all safety requirements and guidelines in everyday work.
