Job Description

Key Staffing is seeking an Entertainment Activities Coordinator in the Bakersfield area.

 

Program/Position Identification and Requirements

  • Under close supervision of the Deputy Manager II, the Entertainment Activities Coordinator performs but is not limited to a variety of clerical and office duties in support of the Grounds Entertainment department or function within the organization. This department requires energy and stamina on a normal event day as it supports several hundred performers, actors, and customers during the Fair. The incumbent will book acts, performers, and entertainment, including but not limited to, contracting, scheduling, coordinating, confirming, and providing credentials. Ensure smooth execution across all stage spaces. In addition to the day-to-day duties, occasional situations may arise that require quick response to support and help all stage acts and performances. The incumbent may go out and check on actors, so must be able to work in hot, cold, dry, and dusty conditions.

License or Other Requirements: Valid Driver License

Location: Bakersfield, CA

Work Hours/Shift: Temporary- Pre-Fair and Fair time only

Job Description and Duties

Grounds Entertainment Assistant:

  • Acts/Performer booking, including contracting, scheduling, coordinating, confirming, and credentials. Ensure smooth execution across all stage spaces.
  • Collecting information on how many credentials are needed per act etc.
  • Provide instructions on where and when to pick up credentials.
  • Provide instructions on how to get into the fair and through where.
  • Coordinating and scheduling the stage acts for each day of the fair and every, separated by each stage.
  • Know all the performances, times, and schedules according to each stage.
  • Submitting evaluation forms on each performance act.
  • Working with the Stage Manager at the performance site when applicable.
  • Outstanding strong customer service background
  • Outstanding strong technology skills (Word, Excel, Internet, Email, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently or cooperatively in a group setting.
  • Taking and acting upon incoming phone calls

Managing acts/performer schedules

  • Maximize client satisfaction by successfully matching Acts/performers with appropriate stages and areas for best customer experience.
  • Assisting with general office duties
  • Team player with a passion for providing excellent experience to both actors/performers and attendees.

Professional demeanor with a minimum of two years of recent experience in an office setting

  • Ability to multi-task with experience working with moderate to heavy levels of phone calls
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent critical thinking skills

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Coordinating input from various Facilities teams
  • Analyzes schedules for proper use of program-level standards, layouts, and reports information to ensure program flow.
  • Work closely with the Deputy Manager to define and achieve strategic programming objectives and visibility goals.
  • Work with the marketing team and staff to promote events effectively and ensure they are executed seamlessly.
  • Creative vision with a passion for music, entertainment, and performers.
  • Proven experience in event programming and management within a venue live music, or entertainment setting.

Miscellaneous duties:

· Perform other job-related duties as requested by supervisor.

Work Environment

Performs varied tasks and will work weekends, holidays, and odd or irregular hours. Will work in a fast-paced, indoor environment. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The work environment will be indoors with some outdoors and subject to cold, heat, fog, hot, dry, dusty, wind, and other weather conditions.
