Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a great company in Minden, LA. This is a Direct-Hire position.

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for process improvements for all manufacturing processes, with a focus on material efficiency, ergonomics, and product quality. Works with production teams to identify specific improvement projects, and analyzes impact on material/labor cost, product quality, and employee safety. Provides technical support for improvement projects from the initial research stage to implementation in production; this would include prototype building, possible construction, employee training, and testing of the new processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs project work on process improvements.
• Provides written descriptions of new or modified manufacturing processes and coordinates the implementation of these into production. Calculates financial impact of process improvements.
• Provide training and support regarding changes made in the process.
• Must be able to work effectively with other employees, managers, vendors, and clients.
• Must be able to work through projects and resolve issues within the process with little supervision.
• Must be able to be on the plant floor frequently and remain standing for long periods to perform testing, prototyping, machine run-off for new equipment, and new process implementation. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures in an un-airconditioned, unheated environment up to 70% of the time.
• Be able to learn and program NC fabrication equipment.
• Must be able to use MS Office programs Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must be able to comply with all required safety policies and wear the appropriate personal protection equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A college degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
• Prior experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate excellent analytical skills.
• Must be organized and possess the ability to handle multiple projects.

Salary info:

$30.29 - $43.27 / hr
