If you are energetic and inspired by making change through fundraising and event production - then our small firm could be the place for you. 

As a team member with our 25+ year old firm you will learn, tackle, and take the lead on many tasks involved with of event planning and fundraising.  You will obtain and hone skills that will serve you well in any professional setting.  Client base includes non-profit organizations and others, focused on all kinds of issues, such as environment, organized labor, health, human and animal welfare, and affordable housing.

Tasks involve researching current contact information for past, current, and potential (financial and in-kind) donors and participants, i.e., vendors and updating of information into databases.  Phoning potential donors and participants to confirm participation (to warm or hot lists, this is NOT a telemarketing firm).  Publicity - assist with writing and distribution of press releases and follow-up as well as posting on on-line sites and handling other social media for clients and firm.  Attendance at events - assisting as needed with all tasks related to set-up, during (volunteer coordination), and post-event. 

Great opportunity for individuals interested in working in non-profit sector, political and social justice environments, as well as communications and publicity.  Fast-paced and fun office environment for a self-motivated individual who does not mind working alone AND with people.

THIS COULD BE FULL TIME - or, filled by 2 people part time.

Must be self-motivated and know how to take initiative!  Good natured with a sense of humor.  Quick study. 

Current skills should include efficiency with word, excel (mail merging a plus), and other databases, ability to do research online (using various platforms), comfort on phone and possessing of proper (and, warm) phone manners (limiting vernacular such as "um" and "like") and if you can update our website and work on our social media a PLUS!

Some remote work okay – and downtown Oakland office should be staffed at times as well.
