IT MANAGER

Kazan, McClain, Satterley & Greenwood, a Professional Law Corporation, has represented thousands of people suffering from the effects of asbestos related illnesses, particularly mesothelioma, since 1974. We are nationally recognized pioneers in asbestos litigation and currently interviewing for an IT Manager to join our Oakland, California based team.

The IT Manager’s primary role is to administer, upgrade and protect critical technology systems and assets, implement new software and hardware solutions and work with the IT Director to develop the overall IT strategy. The IT Manager will also provide direct user support to staff.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Configure and maintain essential IT infrastructure, including switches and other networking components, virtualization infrastructure using VMWare and SAN storage, servers, laptops, desktops, printers and other hardware.

· Microsoft Active Directory and Office 365 administration, including user management, group policies, and domain services Perform routine and scheduled health monitoring and administration tasks for all systems, including security patches, backups and security log review; research event log warnings and errors and proactively address issues.

· Troubleshoot technical issues related to systems, networking, desktops and applications

· Handle overall business-critical IT tasks and system administration

· Provide end user technical support

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

· Five or more years of experience in IT management

· BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field

· Deep knowledge of programming languages and operating systems

· Significant experience with or understanding of configuring and maintaining Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365/Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, VMWare, SAN systems, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, systems performance-monitoring tools, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management

· Strong understanding of current technology trends and best practices including cloud computing

· Strong understanding of cybersecurity concerns and defenses

· Expertise in implementing, configuring and testing IT solutions

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent customer service, problem solving and computer trouble-shooting skills

· Ability to work beyond 40 hours in a week, with occasional overtime; some weekends may be required
