Purchasing Assistant

Allied is seeking a Purchasing Assistant at our Edmond Oklahoma Facility.  He/she will work with the Manufacturing team to purchase the components necessary to build our products. The work is "hands on", fast paced, challenging and enjoyable.

What you will do at Allied:

• Researching and comparing suppliers, goods, and services.
• Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency.
• Monitoring inventory levels and determining purchase needs.
• Requesting cost proposals and negotiating contracts and prices.
• Preparing and processing purchase orders.
• Maintaining records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments.
• Scheduling and verifying purchase deliveries.
• Maintaining ECN (Engineer Change Notifications) documentation.
• Forwarding receiving documentation to accounting to authorize payments for purchases.

• Experience in industrial component purchasing.
• Solid negotiating skills.
• Experience working with an ERP system (Allied uses SAP B1).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Intermediate skills in spreadsheet and word processing software.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with vendors.
• Ability to conduct one’s self in a professional manner.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documents is a plus.
• Ability to perform intermediate arithmetic skills including calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, and ratios.
• Ability to use common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Organizational and follow-up skills.
