Job Description

Reneson Hotels, Inc. has a newly created position of Director of Revenue Management available. The Director of Revenue Management should be a highly strategic and analytical individual who will be responsible for overseeing hotel room revenue strategic planning, pricing strategies, and effective inventory management for Reneson Hotel’s portfolio of hotels currently an independent hotel and 6 others affiliated with Marriott, Hilton, IHG and Best Western. The ideal candidate will drive revenue maximization and profit optimization through expert management of pricing, inventory, and customer segmentation strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Applicant should possess a strong knowledge of the operations of a limited-service hotel, generally involving at least five years of revenue management experience.
  2. Absent extraordinary prior on-the-job experience, the Director of Revenue Management position requires a four-year business or liberal arts degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  3. Applicant should have knowledge of the hotel sales and marketing process.
  4. Applicant must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Applicant must have comprehensive knowledge of OnQ, Jonas Chourm, PEP, Opera5 and HotelKey functions as it relates to Reservations, Sales, Catering and Front Office.
  6. Applicant must possess superior leadership and training skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities (big versus small rocks).
  7. Applicant must possess excellent fundamental math skills.
  8. Applicant must possess personal computer skills including use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Property Management system (PMS), and Central Reservations System programs.
  9. A Certified Hospitality Administrator designation is preferred.
  10. Applicant must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 10 pounds.
  11. Applicant should hold valid drivers license with clean record.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, the Director of Revenue must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility in a safe and satisfactory manner and be punctual and have a good attendance record. In addition, the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   1. Utilizing available revenue management systems, develop and implement room revenue management and pricing strategies to maximize hotel revenue across all distribution channels for all Reneson Hotels.*
  2. For each Reneson property, host bi-weekly revenue management meetings to review room revenue performance, strategies, group pick-up, and opportunities for improvement.*
  3. Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, team members, and other departments.

AUTHORITY

  1. Make decisions regarding pricing adjustments, inventory allocations, and promotional offers within established guidelines and budgetary constraints.
  2. Determine the implementation of revenue management policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency across the organization.
  3. Provide guidance and direction to team members on revenue management initiatives and best practices.

TASKS

  1. Revenue Optimization:
    • Develop and implement revenue management and pricing strategies to maximize hotel revenue across all distribution channels.
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and historical data to identify revenue opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
    • Daily, monitor and adjust room rates and manage inventory to optimize revenue and occupancy.
    • Utilize Lighthouse and revenue management systems (GRO, Concerto, BestRev, etc.) to forecast demand and set pricing and inventory strategies.
    • Communicate all pricing and inventory management decisions through GuestEQ.
    • Collaborate with the sales team and General Manager to create group pricing guidelines.
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create promotional offers and packages to attract guests and increase revenue.
  1. Inventory Management:
    • Manage room inventory and distribution across various channels, including online travel agencies (OTAs), global distribution systems (GDS), and direct bookings. Manage relationships with OTA partners and evaluate opportunities for new partners.
    • Monitor and optimize distribution channels to ensure maximum visibility and revenue generation.
    • In coordination with each property General Manager, implement overbooking and cancellation policies to minimize revenue loss and maximize occupancy.
    • Ensure rate parity across all distribution platforms.
  2. Performance Analysis:
    • For each property, host bi-weekly revenue management meetings with the COO, General Manager, and other appropriate personnel to review room revenue performance, strategies, group pick-up, and opportunities for improvement (e.g. room rate changes).
  3. Perform other duties as requested by the COO.

The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability adjust focus.
