We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Operator. The role will primarily operate Bulldozers and Excavators as they excavate, load, & grade material onsite. The right candidate will have a wide range of experience on different types of equipment.


Heavy Duty Equipment Operators should have a minimum of three years of experience in the seat of bull dozers & excavators. A Heavy Duty Equipment Operator will be able to provide rough and finish grades with bulldozers & similar equipment along with excavator experience digging, sloping, & loading trucks.

Requirements:

Job Responsibilities & Related Skills:

  • Operates Excavators, Dozers, & other Grading Equipment to cut/fill grade as they spread fill material to specifications.
  • Experience working in Private Industrial facilities.
  • Experience in a variety of Civil Site Scopes of Work including mass excavation, mass embankment & grading, rough and fine grading, sloping, establishment of drainage, & stockpiling of materials.
  • Ability to appropriately excavate at aggregate loading sites, establish & maintain off-road trucking routes to and from loading site, & load various types of dump trucks with aggregate material.
  • Experience working on and performing daily inspections and maintenance on a variety of Excavators, Dozers, Front-End Loaders, Packers, and tools necessary in the assistance of the job.
  • Performs pre and post inspections and performs minor maintenance of the equipment.
  • Performs assignments as directed or as responsibilities necessitate.
  • Be a team player, with a willingness to assist in a variety of roles on the site.
  • Performs general labor duties when necessary, involving strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects.
  • Maintains a clean job site; picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, safety director or HR manager.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites including extreme weather conditions that include but are not limited to high heat and humidity, cold, ice, snow, & rain. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.


Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee walks and works on unlevel, steep, slippery, wet, muddy, & inconsistent ground. The employee must have excellent stamina.
