Position Summary:
The Recycling Center Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations at a Metal Recycling Facility, including safety, environmental compliance, customer service, personnel management, material processing, and financial controls. This role ensures the facility operates efficiently, compliantly, and in alignment with Company policies and EOS (Ninety) expectations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Operations & Facility Management:
  • Oversee daily operations at the Metal Recycling Facility, including material purchasing, processing, shipping, and customer traffic flow.
  • Ensure the facility remains clean, organized, and professional at all times.
  • Monitor equipment condition, coordinate maintenance needs, and report issues promptly.
  • Ensure accurate material grading, weighing, and documentation.
  • Prepare materials for shipment and coordinate outbound loads.

Safety, Environmental & PPE Compliance:
  • Enforce, monitor, and comply with all Company safety policies and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including stormwater and other applicable requirements.
  • Conduct safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Immediately report and investigate accidents, injuries, incidents, and near misses.

Personnel Management & Leadership:
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise facility employees.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as required.
  • Approve employee timecards and paid time off (PPTO) in accordance with Company policy.
  • Conduct employee evaluations as required.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and accountable work environment.

Customer Service & Financial Controls:
  • Provide professional customer service and resolve customer concerns.
  • Ensure accurate payment to customers and proper handling of cash, checks, and other payment methods.
  • Oversee end-of-day balancing, deposits, and required banking procedures.
  • Maintain proper internal controls and documentation related to purchasing and payments.

EOS / Ninety Participation:
  • Participate in the Companyโ€™s Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) using the Ninety platform.
  • Attend required meetings, maintain scorecards, manage rocks and to-dos, and support Company priorities.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior management experience in recycling, industrial, or operations environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of scrap metal operations and customer service.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to enforce policies and maintain accountability.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Ability to work in Metal Recycling Facility and industrial environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Driving & Record Reporting:
If operating a Company vehicle or personal vehicle for Company business, employees must maintain an acceptable driving record and immediately report any changes in driving status, citations, or license restrictions.
