Summary for Operations Manager / Recycling Center Manager:
  • The Recycling Center Manager / Operations Manager is responsible for the management and profitability of their location as well as the professional development of the potential leaders within the team. This role must work through team members to maintain revenue from both residential and industrial customers and focus time on building relationships with local industrial accounts and coordinate incoming leads.
  • Must have strong experience working face to face with a customer base.

Responsibilities for Operations Manager / Recycling Center Manager:
  • Direct all operations of recycling centers while owning all aspects of: financial performance, operational flexibility, growth, safety and leadership.
  • Coach and develop team members so they are building skills needed to succeed within PADNOS and a team that can assist with the expansion of PADNOS.
  • Customer Response Rate: Respond to customers' inquiries, quotations and needs within 24 hours of initial inquiry.
  • Gain knowledge on costs associated with the yard (i.e.: freight, handling, or processing related to ferrous or nonferrous material).
  • Responsible for safe and efficient operations of the retail yard locations managing both capital resources and labor.
  • Report on production, safety, goals and efficiencies to management. Initiate necessary action to meet department goals and personnel needs.
  • Monitor product standards and implement quality control programs.
  • Work closely with sales department to coordinate shipping and receiving of materials.
  • Interpret and administer company policy.
  • Manage department and individual performance through direct and indirect supervision of employees.

Goals for Operations Manager / Recycling Center Manager:
  • Continue to pursue greatness in safety and safety audits
  • Increase the gross marginin the yard.
  • Review Individual Development Plans for each team member, including monthly coaching and development meetings.
  • Build relationships with customers to bring on new customers in 2023.

Qualifications for Operations Manager / Recycling Center Manager:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related studies required
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or recycling environment
  • Fluent in Spanish, preferred but not required
  • Strong customer service skills and past experience working face to face with customers.
  • Profit and loss statement experience is preferred, but not required
  • Heavy equipment experience (skid steer, crane, loader, bobcat, excavator) preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional desire to support fellow team members in a manner that is helpful, intuitive, value-adding, and enthusiastic.
  • Process oriented, accountable, and disciplined.
  • Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
  • Adaptable communication style enabling effective messaging with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage large amounts of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues as they arise.
  • Ability to solve problems logically and critically.
  • Cross functionality across multiple business groups.
  • Ability to build sustainable relationships and follow the platinum rule.
