Job Skills / Requirements
The Sanitation lead is responsible for all activities involved in maintaining the cleanliness and food safe environment of the processing facility, surrounding area and equipment. Leads, motivates, and develops sanitation staff to achieve outstanding sanitation results.
COMPENSATION: Starting at $24 /hr
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Participate in the Supervision of hourly employees
  • Perform all sanitor job functions while demonstrating proper execution of the 7 steps of sanitation
  • Recognize and report any situation that could affect the safety of an employee
  • Train sanitation employees to achieve and maintain sanitation objectives assigned by the supervisor/ manager
  • Organize and distribute tasks to the employees
  • Monitor supplies and parts as needed
  • Ensure all Sanitation techs are following company safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Communicate with customer's Quality, Maintenance and Production teams to ensure that there is no delay in startup or changeover
  • Responsible for monitoring the mixing and handling of chemicals in their designated area
  • Clean areas effectively by minimizing production downtime and damage caused to the equipment.
  • Participate in pre-op briefs and correct findings
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a minimum of 2-year sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of 7 steps of sanitation.
  • Experience with regulatory inspectors (AIB, BRC, OSHA, Military, Health Department, EPA, City & County Inspectors). MS proficiency preferred
  • Experience in handling food processing equipment and sanitation chemicals
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand company documents pertinent to your position.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to actively participate on the production floor.
  • Frequent lifting, kneeling, and bending with items up to 40 lbs. is required.
  • Must be able to tolerate wet or dry environments and temperatures may range from 25°F to 110°F
  • Repetitive hand, wrist and finger activities.
