What is aluminum recycling?

Aluminum recycling is the process of collecting, sorting, cleaning, and reprocessing used aluminum materials—such as cans, foil, and scrap—so they can be melted down and reused to manufacture new aluminum products. This process helps conserve natural resources, save energy, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to producing aluminum from raw ore. Recycling aluminum is highly efficient, as aluminum can be recycled repeatedly without losing quality. It also plays a crucial role in reducing landfill waste and supporting a circular economy.
