Job Description
Salary:

OVERALL FUNCTION

Morris Wealth Management Team is seeking an Insurance Coordinator who specializes in actively managing the application process for new insurance business and ongoing maintenance of insurance business. This individual will help ensure an efficient process from the initial application, medical/financial record collection, and health questionnaire through to the delivery of the insurance policy. The Insurance Coordinator is a liaison between the Wealth Management Advisor, existing team, home office underwriting department, as well as the clients.

 

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

 

Operational Support

  • File new statements, account forms and other insurance-related materials
  • Handle case notes, process correspondence, and maintain client case files
  • Input data, print proposals and gather information at direction of Advisor in preparation for client/prospect meeting
  • Communicate with home office as needed to supply or obtain information
  • Communicate to clients with updates on where they are in the process and what to expect next
  • Maintain status logs and updates internally for each active case file and prepare summary reports for weekly meetings
  • Maintain tight operational systems for account follow-up and service requirements

 

Client Service Support

  • Gather and prepare information for annual review and/or term conversion meetings with existing clients
  • Complete insurance applications for new and existing clients and obtain signatures; actively manage a seamless process from start to finish
  • Arrange medical, paramedical, and any exams necessary for underwriting
  • Regularly check-in with the team and clients on any outstanding requirements
  • Prepare any finalizing insurance policy paperwork and obtain signatures
  • Prepare and/or modify insurance illustrations
  • Provide information, statements, and forms to existing clients as requested
  • Process all incoming requests related to insurance servicing

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Life/Health and Long-Term Care Insurance state license – or willingness to obtain
  • Detail oriented and ability to review documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Project management skills
  • Strong follow through to completion
  • Time management skills and ability to multitask, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to proactively identify what needs to be accomplished and take action as appropriate
  • Ability to work both independently and on a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
