POSITION SUMMARY

Project Engineer Manages projects from planning through delivery and is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines needed to complete the job. Liaises between project members, cross-functional teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure deliverables, requirements, schedules, cost, and meeting plans are communicated. Project Engineer utilizes appropriate tools to plan project timelines, milestones, and deadlines. Communicates schedule and changes to all stakeholders. Project Engineer plans and facilitates project meetings to align the project team to methods and goals and to track project tasks. Prepares agendas, meeting notes, and project summaries. Monitors task completion status to identify at risk project tasks and to develop mitigation plans. Allocates resources, budgets, and hours to the project and adjusts allocations when necessary. Project Manager III works independently and collaboratively in nature and contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.

Project opportunities include the installation, de-install, move, add, and change of electronic technology. Technology can include POS hardware, cabling, wireless networking services, new restaurant openings, digital signage, kiosks, and server upgrades.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Leading, coaching, developing, and providing direction to the project team.
  • Establishing and maintaining SOPs to standardize and improve efficiency.
  • Plan, manage, and execute projects from implementation to completion including financial and KPI reporting.
  • Execute projects based on a signed SOW and address scope creep through change orders. Meet or exceed project expected margin.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of the customers’ end use markets, their important customers, and their main competitors.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of your customers’ business and their human capital and benefits issues and appropriately position value proposition with viable solutions to meet your customers’ needs.
  • Ensure we have competitive and robust project technician resources.
  • Strong cost controls.
  • Establish and build strong working relationships with business leaders and your team members to ensure the successful delivery of services to your customers.
  • Collaborate with the sales team on costing opportunities, reviewing, and approving new opportunities.
  • Partner to the sales team to assist in closing opportunities.
  • Investigate, track, and resolve customer and client concerns; identify trends and implement solutions.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and work teams.
  • Establish and strengthen customer relationships with decision makers across functions and regions.
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to, and that work is conducted in a safe manner.
  • To maintain good and co-operative relationships with colleagues involved in other aspects of the process or operations to promote strong teamwork and co-operation across the company to meet customer requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 4 plus years of experience working with Hospitality and/or AIDC industry. Solid understanding of restaurant environment and technology.
  • Working Knowledgeof architectural drawings and floor plans
  • Working Knowledge of structured cabling/cable paths in new and existing buildings.
  • Strong Acumen for construction timelines.
  • Working knowledge of basic network topology, wireless, copper, fiber.
  • Strong resource scheduling skills.
  • Strong ability to maintain project timeframes, budget estimates, and status reports.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, vendors, and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence change.
  • Possess strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) to analyze data and trends.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and data entry required and must be comfortable with multiple operating systems and software applications.
  • Flexibility in adapting to changes in tasks prioritization.
