POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The incumbent is primarily responsible for validating the quality of service technician’s work, reviewing quotes, and customer satisfaction. This role communicates scope of effort to customers, provides mentorship to technicians, answering questions, quickly and efficiently diagnosing problems, and identifies the most cost effective and timely solution to resolve the issue.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works directly with customers to develop solutions to all concerns, issued in order of magnitude.
  • Upsells on on-going maintenance contracts to non-contract customers, when appropriate.
  • Employs specialized techniques, equipment, and materials to accelerate the diagnostic process.
  • Directs apprentices engaged in any type of repairs, and helps to coach them in the proper methods for quality, safe, and effective execution of work.
  • Inspects equipment, structures, and materials to identify the cause of errors, safety hazards, etc., and either solutions or escalates them appropriately.
  • Keeps records of assignments and produces detailed work reports with any documentation of damage or loss on site.
  • Facilitates knowledge transfer and teaches trade skills to less experienced service technicians.
  • Recruits high performing talent for the project site, ensuring the best possible staff for the customer needs and project scope.
  • Assists all field staff with troubleshooting challenging project issues and devising appropriate solutions.
  • Ensures all service technicians have a clear understanding of daily safety responsibilities, as well as the scope and site specific safety requirements of the project or task.
  • Participates in accident investigations, and ensures Safety has the information needed to complete them.
  • Assists with Service Technicians’ schedules, and ensures all time is recorded and reported via the proper channels consistent with the Limbach Way.
  • Walks job site for quality checks and provides feedback on addressing and resolving the identified issues.
  • Maintains vehicle maintenance, cleanliness and reports all damage to assigned vehicle.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • This position operates primarily in the field, interfacing with service technicians and customers regarding service on MEP systems.
    • Work tasks necessitates travel to customer facilities, as well as local job sites which means intermittent exposure to weather, potentially harmful materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, noise, dangerous machinery, and/or other conditions typically associated with a live the conditions typically associated with a construction work site or retrofit style work.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is frequently required to see, sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, bend, squat, reach above and below shoulders, balance, climb (stairs, scaffolding, ladders), and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.
    • You may occasionally be required to twist, kneel, push, or pull, and rarely required to crawl.
    • This is considered a medium work position, which means possible exertion of up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to thirty (30) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to ten (10) pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

    TRAVEL:

    • This position may require up to 75% of local travel.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 6-8 years of MEP service experience in industrial, commercial, and/or building HVAC preventive maintenance.
    • Universal EPA Certification.
    • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft and Google products.
    • Ability to explain complex HVAC issues to customers in a way they can understand.
    • Exceptional time management skills.
    • Capacity to leverage leadership skills to facilitate learning, teamwork, and collaborative relationships.
    • Must be fluent and able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.
    • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) with diverse audiences.
    • Valid Driver’s License required and pass an MVR review.

        PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

        • Completed OSHA 30-Hour Training.
        • Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
