Job description

Our client, a growing food manufacturing company, is dedicated to producing high-quality, safe, and consistent food products. Their mission is to deliver excellence in food safety and quality through innovation and continuous improvement. They are looking for a skilled QA Supervisor to join their team in Salt Lake City, Utah!
Position Summary:
The QA Supervisor will oversee daily quality assurance operations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, etc.), and customer specifications. This role supervises the QA team, supports plant inspections, and helps drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Job type: Direct- hire
Salary: $55,000-$ 60,000/ annually
Schedule: M-F: 5am- 2pm, with occasional Sundays
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily QA and food safety operations in the production facility
  • Monitor and enforce GMP, HACCP, and food safety compliance throughout the plant
  • Conduct internal audits and support third-party audits (e.g., SQF, BRC)
  • Oversee quality testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods
  • Investigate and respond to customer complaints and non-conformances
  • Maintain accurate documentation including batch records, deviation reports, and QA logs
  • Train and coach QA technicians and production staff on quality procedures
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and sanitation teams to resolve quality issues
  • Support continuous improvement projects related to food safety and quality assurance

Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a QA or food safety role within a food manufacturing environment
  • 2+ year in a leadership or supervisory position preferred
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FSMA, and related food safety programs
  • Experience with food industry audits and regulatory compliance
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QA documentation systems
