Position Summary:

ISI is looking for an experienced construction manager with a background in building mechanical systems construction and with expertise in the construction industry to provide Owner's Representative construction management services to a Federal client in the healthcare industry. The engineer will work to support a Federal client on ongoing construction projects of various sizes and complexity. Duties include providing a wide range of analytical and planning, design, and construction management support services to assist the client. The position will support more senior government project managers and fellow contractor project managers, who will work as part of a larger design/construction program. The ability to lead and work as a team AND work independently are critical. ISI is seeking an individual who will be a clear communicator, takes initiative and embraces project ownership. This position may provide mentorship to more junior teammates, but it is not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • CM-ME shall have 6 years experiencing practicing mechanical engineering.
  • The CM-ME shall possess experience reviewing design and construction plans against existing site conditions.
  • The CM-ME shall possess experience in the resolution of unforeseen site and design conditions/problems and propose cost effective technical solutions.
  • The CM-ME shall possess experience conducting inspections and inventories of such structures to identify and note deficiencies, problems, or the general physical condition of such structures.
  • Shall possess knowledge of all aspects of commercial hospital mechanical construction including but not limited to underground mechanical installation, medical gas systems, domestic water systems, chilled water systems, and steam systems.
  • Shall possess knowledge of low Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, testing and balancing, operations, sheet metal duct systems and control systems including direct digital controls; OR knowledge of building plumbing systems; OR knowledge of healthcare medical gas systems.
  • Shall possess knowledge of conveying systems including electric dumbwaiters and materials lifts, electric traction elevators, hydraulic elevators, pneumatic tube systems, and uniform dispensing equipment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design and installation for specialized medical and laboratory equipment including but not limited to MRI, PET, CT, audiometric booths, fume hoods, biological safety cabinets, and sterilization equipment.
  • Ability to provide cost estimates and take-offs for the mechanical contract modifications.
  • Ability to determine compliance of workmanship, materials, equipment and installed work with contract requirements and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of governmental contracting procedures, principles, guidelines and public law.

Required Education:

  • The CM-ME shall possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution of higher learning.

Preferred:

  • Medical facilities experience.
  • PE License (any state)

Work Setting/Environment/Travel Requirements:

  • Monday through Friday, Normal business hours 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
