Professional Services Engineer

Reports To:Professional Services Manager

Status: Regular, Full-Time, Exempt

Location: Remote, Easter Time Zone

POSITION SUMMARY

The Professional Services Engineer addresses various aspects of workflow, staffing, budget allocation, scheduling, and execution of assigned projects. The Professional Services Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects and will establish inspection criteria for the proper implementation of all the elements of a project.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

  • Define project requirements, scopes, and deliverables.
  • Design, develop, and implement IT infrastructure, systems, and software solutions based on project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and user manuals.

SECONDARY OBJECTIVES

  • Collaborates with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project.
  • Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and designs.
  • Recommends and/or analyzes materials, equipment, and practices used in the project.
  • Assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors.
  • Oversees the progress of the development project.
  • Compares the actual cost of a development project to estimates.
  • Collaborates with the design group to change plans if problems arise.
  • Collaborates with other engineers to share problems and solutions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least five years of experience in project management, engineering, systems design, or other related fields.
  • Advanced experience supporting, deploying, configuring and best practice in Azure, AWS, SharePoint.
  • Advanced experience with server and networking hardware.
  • Advanced experience with supporting, deploying and configuring networking equipment, firewalls, switches.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent budgeting and cost containment skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
