We’re currently seeking a General Manager for our management of our multi-family apartment community in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The position primarily focuses on managing all aspects in the operation of a multi-million-dollar asset with an end goal to achieve maximum profitability, while providing best-in-class service to the residents.

Summary/Objective:

The Property Manager is responsible for protecting, maintaining, and enhancing the value of the property while ensuring a quality experience for residents and tenants. In your role, you will (overview of general duties). You are integral in upholding the community culture and adding value to the property, and we expect you to take initiative in suggesting, developing, and implementing new, innovative ideas.

Essential Functions:

• Lead by example, living the behaviors and standards that exude McCaffery’s culture and core values.

• Provide residents and tenants with outstanding customer service; build brand loyalty by ensuring that every customer interaction is positive through our industry leading Meet McCaffery service approach.

• Operate to McCaffery’s Methods as it relates to Risk and Legal Management, Facilities Maintenance, Financial Management, Training, Human Resources, Marketing, IT and Commercial Leasing.

• Complete McCaffery’s DREAM platform requirements as set forth by the Training Manager.

• Represent the best interest of the property, its residents, management and ownership always.

• Always be ready to serve. Help divide and oversee task completion among staff in the absence of a team member.

• Maintain a high-level awareness of market trends and take routinely scheduled tours of competing properties. Provide recommendations on innovative solutions to ensure relevancy in the marketplace.

• Conduct all business in accordance with McCaffery’s policies and procedures, fair housing, Americans with Disabilities Act and all other laws pertaining to residential units, commercial properties as well as all employment laws.

• Lead/assist in formulation of budgets for each upcoming calendar year and is responsible for staying within the established budget guidelines throughout the year.

• Ensure that all rents are collected when due, and posted in a timely manner.

• Constant vendor/contractor communications concerning work scheduling, billings, contracts and certificates of insurance. Responsible for approving and submitting all invoices for payment.

• Maintains and submits required records on all aspects of management activity on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

• Prepare materials for organizing and participating in meetings of the community.

• Ensures that files are complete and that leases are being executed properly.

• Payroll processing.

• Initiate and implement policies/procedures to maintain resident’s & tenant communication, complaints, and service requests.

• Reports all liability and property incidents of significance to supervisor.

• Performs any additional duties or tasks as assigned by supervisor.

• In partnership with Human Resources, hires, terminates, trains, motivates and supervises all on‐site staff to achieve operational goals of assigned property to include worker’s compensation related matters.

• Previous experience (2‐5 years) as a Property Manager strongly preferred.

• Computer literacy is required including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

• Strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to understand and carry out industry specific written and oral direction. Positive, innovative approach to problem solving. Presents ideas in a clear, concise, understandable, and organized manner; negotiate, persuade, and modify opinion to reach the goals/objectives of the organization.

• Ability to work independently as a project leader and as a team member. Ability to relate well with others even while working at a distance without the benefit of personal contact. Ability to work in an organized, efficient manner with an elevated level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow‐through.

• Ability to exercise judgment and discretion is critical to success. Must be professional at setting priorities and coping with competing demands.

• Excellent time‐management and general organization skills, accepts personal responsibility for quality and timeliness of work.

Supervisor Responsibility:

Oversee onsite staff (leasing, management, and maintenance employees)

Required Education and Experience

 4 years of experience in property management.

 2-5 years acting as a Property Manager

Preferred Education and Experience:

 Bachelor’s degree preferred
