Job Description

SUMMARY

Supports production with continuous improvement of existing processes and methods and introduction of new products and processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain complete safety and environmental compliance.
  • Manage engineering and production documentation.
  • Maintain and direct repair of manufacturing machinery and equipment to allow for maximum efficiency.
  • Develops the schedules for the Preventative maintenance of manufacturing machinery and equipment.
  • Refine and develop manufacturing processes to achieve quality and rate defined in the process specifications.
  • Implement manufacturing plans and procedures for new product introduction.
  • Provide training for manufacturing operators.
  • Prepare and maintain manufacturing process documentation (SOP's, PS's and equipment manuals).
  • Assist R&D in performing engineering pilots.
  • Assist Quality Assurance in performing failure analysis.
  • Plan, design and justify manufacturing tooling machinery, and equipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree in Engineering and a minimum of five years related work experience including automated assembly equipment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and manufacturing instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in written and diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must be able to understand and apply DSSA, Inc. documentation including SOP, MI, PS, PMP, MER, PFD, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to lighting and temperature as required for the manufacturing area. Appropriate safety equipment is required by area. There is potential exposure to hazardous chemicals. A considerable amount of walking from department to department may occur in unfavorable weather conditions. The employee is exposed to the inherent dangers of the explosive materials used in DSSA, Inc. manufacturing processes.

The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
