CLINICAL MANAGER POSITION OVERVIEW:

Clinical managers effectively lead the clinic, accountable for the effectiveness and efficiency of the clinic through continuous improvement of processes, outcomes and personnel. Working with others within the organization to identify gaps and create effective business objectives and goals for the achievement of the company’s mission and goals.


CLINICAL MANAGER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assume responsibility for the ongoing/daily operations of the clinic.
  • Assume responsibility for the ongoing/daily management of clinic staff and effective clinical operations.
  • Make schedules a minimum of 2 weeks in advance.
  • Assume first call for clinical staff who are ill or unable to come to work.
  • Hold staff accountable for unauthorized absences through appropriate counseling.
  • Ensure all staff members follow established policies and procedures. Assist with the implementation and documentation of any new policies as needed. Discipline and/or provide feedback to those members who do not follow policy. Continue to observe staff members for adherence to policy.
  • Ensure staff maintains professionalism at all times including proper uniform attire, manner of performing professional duties, and all forms of communication with patients, families, and companies with which we do business.
  • Ensure clinic staff licensures are kept current and renewed timely. This includes scheduling BLS classes and renewing ASRT memberships.
  • Works with Division Administrator in areas of recruitment, hiring, and management of clinic employees in conjunction with human resources.
  • Coordinate with Division Administrator to identify recruiting needs and assist in interviews of new personnel.
  • Ensure new staff members are provided an appropriate orientation with guidance and training in the areas of patient charting, triage, back-office duties, lab procedures, opening and closing procedures, phone etiquette, etc.
  • Complete annual performance reviews with the assistance of Division Administrator.
  • Consistently mentor team members to enhance their skills and effectiveness in clinic.
  • Provide coaching/counseling as necessary.
  • Provide documentation and follow up as required for quality assurance.
  • Ensure that the autoclave is properly maintained.
  • May need to schedule and coordinate onsite maintenance and cleaning when required.
  • Report/fax all reportable infectious disease cases to Tri-County Health Department as required.
  • Ensure Radiology quality control/compliance with assistance from Radiology Technicians on staff.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental goals.
  • Order supplies and medications for the clinic. Ensure clinic does not run out of supplies or medications. May delegate responsibility as needed.
  • Obtain nutritional supplies (juice, water, crackers) for your clinic as needed.
  • Work with purchasing coordinator to order office supplies. May delegate this item
  • Attends, coordinates and/or manages meetings amongst clinical staff, Division Administrator and physicians as needed.
  • Communicate identified issues and concerns in a constructive manner and participate in solutions.
  • Ensure that patient care and flow, including follow up items, are completed according to company policy and any regulations established by local, state and federal government agencies.
  • Follow up with patient complaints and/or incidents and convey findings to Division Administrator to determine if further action required.
  • Maintain and monitor patient flow throughout the clinic.
  • Ensure patient voicemail call backs completed daily.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for continually assessing all clinic processes and generating ideas and solutions for improvement.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by willingly adjusting to changes in priorities and circumstances.
  • Convey courtesy, dignity and respect for individual differences and perspectives as demonstrated by words and actions.
  • Project a positive attitude and maintain mutual respect with all individuals.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining a professional, clean, safe, and secure environment.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

$65,000 - $75,000 per year

Requirements:

CLINICAL MANAGER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Maintain licensure and/or certification per state guidelines.
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience helpful but not required
  • Must have intermediate skills in MS Word, MS Excel and be internet savvy
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the rationale of appropriate patient care.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain good inter-personal relationships with co-workers and health team members
  • Communicates through appropriate channels
  • Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Medical Assistant Certification, LPN or RN

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Typical business office environment
  • Possibility of local travel
  • Constant viewing of computer monitor, mousing and typing
  • Frequent standing, walking and sitting
  • Frequent stooping, lifting, carrying and pushing/pulling 10 pounds or more
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Hours of business are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be able to work early, late and long hours, as needed, to meet the essential functions of the job
